E. Howard, Boston, 1889

 

Given by Charles H. Dodd to Walter H. Dodd on his graduation from Amherst, 1889

 

The case is an original Peters and Boss (“P&B”), 14 K. It shows no screw marks other than for the current movement. That movement is L size, Series V, marked with a horse. It is nickel plated with damaskeening straight across the plate and a sunburst on the barrel cover. The plate is marked “E. Howard & Co., Boston. In addition to the horse mark, it says “Heat & Cold” on the balance bridge. The serial is 63166. The dial is single-sunk enamel, with fine radial Roman numerals and typical Howard umbrella hands.
